Spirit from the times of the foundation remains in its houses, streets, hundred-year-old monuments and narrow sidewalks surrounded by the mountains nearby.
The biggest attraction in this region is the Train to the clouds which consists of a train journey that goes through the clouds as it crosses The Andes at 4,220 mts. above the sea level.
The wine town of Cafayate at
The Quebrada de Humahucaca, an Andean gorge of rust-coloured mountains and tiny, ancient settlements, is one of Argentina´s mot colorful and distinctively South American natrual experiences. The deep, dry majesty of these rolling peaks, dotted with small, picturesque vilages where indigenous peasants eek out a living from the dustry soil, is where the magic of the Pachamama – Mother Earth – is at its most potent.
