The Iguazu Falls are one of the true wonders of the natural world, the 23km of foaming waterfalls dropping into a 70-metre hig river canyon are everything you could ever hope to see in the way of eco-spectacular.   And being just an hour and a half´s plane ride from Buenos Aires, this is the jewel of the jungle.

Weather its the jungle setting or the primordial “soupy” look of the iron-rich water, the Iguazu Falls make the likes of Niagra and Venezuelas Angle Falls appear mere taps by comparison.  The Iguazu National Park has a surface of 67,000 has. And became a UNESCO World Heritage due to it´s unquestionable beauty and biodiversity.

The falls lie in the glorious setting of the Parque Naciónal Iguazu at the Northern tip of the Misiones Privonce on Argentina´s forntier with Brazil and Paraguay, and are a treasure for bird and animal lovers.   Vencejos (grey-rumped swifts) dart in and out of the cascades and butterflies flutter around the vapour clouds. Toucans, plush-crested jays, night herons and snow egrets are all common sights also.

The Grapevine Argentina recommends a minimum of three days to explore this region with accommodation in Iguazú Jungle Lodge or The Sheraton Iguazu.
